Seems to be OK. A friend has one and says it's fine.

Does that work ok with Android Market (Google Play)?

When I bought the 7" Scroll tablet it wasn't licenced for it as Storage Options wouldn't pay the licence fee.

Just punted £85 on one of these: https://www.ebuyer.com/341447-sumvision-cyclone-astro-tablet-pc-sumv-astrocyctab

https://image.ebuyer.com/UK/P600-0341447-04.jpg

(Yeah, I know there's two.)

- ARM Cortex A8 1.2GHz
- 1GB RAM + 8GB Flash
- Multi Touch Capacitive Screen
- Wifi + HDMI + Webcam
- Android 4.0 - Icecream Sandwich

Order says they're out of stock with a new delivery on the way, so it should turn up in a week or so.

Interested in how you get on with that, I'm after a cheap tablet for watching movies and general web browsing at work/holiday or whatever but I'm not planning on spending a great deal of money on it.

£85 looks like a bargain!

The Lenovo A1 is not bad and can use google play.
It's on gingerbread I think but is easy to root.
On amazon the price is up and down all the time they were briefly £145 when I got mine. If you go for white or pink they are cheaper.
Doesn't matter much if you put it in a case anyhow!
Works well with videos and the sat-nav works offline which I couldn't find in any other tablet (almost worth the price for that alone)
The stupid big icon thing is easily removed with GoLauncher.

Camera is rather poor, video was reasonable but I don't use either other than a quick try.

I have a Teclast T76ti runs everything, Skype video, Youtube, I-player.

Prices have dropped considerably on tablets since Nov (when I bought mine) it was £120 and now available from about £85

It runs an Allwinner processor with 'mali400' which appears to be something you really need it also plays 3d movies Laughing

Yes - even though it says it doesn't officially support it, you can install it with extreme ease.

EDIT: Corrected for updated info

Turns out it's installed already but hidden - don't know what the rules about linking to other forums are on here but there's a dedicated Scroll Tablet PC forum that contains all you need to know.

Just one suggestion. I tried to go cheap and get a 7 inch tablet. I find it is too small to read many web pages very well. Recommend getting a larger size.

I had considered going for an android tablet and briefly had one that I enjoyed before it broke, but managed to get a 2nd hand iPad 2 for £200.
One of the main reasons I went for it is app development focuses on the ios platform before being trickled down to android. That twists my nips as I have an android phone.
Can't really fault it tbh, aside from the lack of jailbreak for current iOS version.

I got mine working ok (have moved on to a Hannspree Hannpad since) but most people would want it to work out of the box.

I bought one of these last week - https://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5086706/Trail/searchtext%3EARCHOS.htm.

Loving it so far. Upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich, runs great, can get a 3G stick for £40 if WiFi isn't enough for you. Bought it to use on the boat as it's got an internal GPS and you can get some great navigation apps for it.

Couldn't agree more! Depends how happy someone is having a quick tinker.
