Kriega tank convertor

Ive got a Kriega US 10 which I dug out the cupboard a few weeks ago which I sort of forgot I had. Im now thinking of buying the tank convertor so I can use it as a tank bag as I find backpacks annoying somtimes. The only thing im worried about is it scratching the tank on my R6.

Has anyone used one at all and if you have did you have any problems?

I use one with a US20 on my hornet.

It was easy to fit, velcro sticky under the seat and the other end tied round the frame under the tank. Not sure what it would be like to fit on an r6 but can't imagine it's difficult.

It feels very secure, I don't carry anything particularly heavy in it but the bag never looks loose when riding/leaning so I never worry about it.
No problems seeing the dials even when loaded to capacity.
It's got a nice easy system to unlock it when refuelling, even when wearing gloves and simple to do back up again.

There are no metal parts, obviously give the tank a good wipedown and make sure it's clean before putting it on but it's got a nice grippy underside. The only time I've ever worried about scratching the tank is when I've dropped the metal hooks from the bag on it but no damage so far.

my only criticism would be that when the tankbag is fully loaded it can be a fiddle fitting it to the converter as you have to loop it through some tight straps. And if you do what I did at first (wrap it round some rubber hoses) it doesn't secure well, but that was just me being stupid.

Thanks for that mate very helpful. Still debating weather to go down the tank bag route or just strap it to my pillion seat.

Thinking about it i dont really want the tank convertor on my bike all the time, does it stay in place when the pack isnt in use or does it all come off the bike?

In exactly the same position as op, come summer, a back pack even though its also kriega r20, would annoy me.

The adaptor stays on the tank. You could take it off but I wouldn't see the point?

I haven't tried it on pillion seat, I went straight for the tank as I carry another large bag on the back. Sits nicely behind though so I'm sure it's just the same. Could save you £20 as well...

Hmm think ill try it out on my pillion seat for my commute tommorow and see how i get on. If its no good on there i might give the tank convertor a try.

I dont mind using my backpack if its got something small and light in it but as soon as something bigger and heavier is in it, it annoys the crap out of me!!

I usually keep my laptop etc in there which can get quite heavy on my commute, so it fits perfectly as a tail pack as well!

Wouldn't use my R25 as a tailpack, it's comfy

With regards to tankbags; I find that using my tankbag is very uncomfortable because of the turbulence it causes, the wind lifting my lid under the chin bar @ 80mph+.

But then my tank bag (Bagster tank cover + "Medea" bag) is rather large!

Good idea with the R25 backpack flamy!!

I used my us-10 strapped on my pillion seat and it was fine. Dont think ill bother using it as a tank bag for the time being.
