Right so, took out a policy last year with 2 years no claims on my old DRZ, policy ended today so it's 3 years now... but... at the start of the month I started a new policy on a new bike with the 2 years no claims as I was too inpaitient to wait until the end of the month to look for a new bike. Am I right in thinking it makes no difference since the new policy was started before I officially had 3 years NCB? Just want to make sure Thumbs Up

If you started a new policy you still have 2 years, if you transfered the exsisting policy you now have 3 years.

Is it with the same insurer??

Yea you only really have 2 on the KTM, unless you cancel now and start new with 3 years NCB, might work out cheaper overall, might not...worth having a check Thumbs Up

Yea sorry, it's with a new insurer, it was a bit complicated, I needed the old policy as I still needed to legally ride the DRZ Confused

Might do Paddy. I'm with Bennetts now, and the extra years no claims would drop the price £75, but obviously cancelling and all that could cost that, suppose I could give it a shot.

If its £35 to cancel or something you'd be better off anyway come next year as you'd be racking up from 3>4 years rather than 2>3 again

Your bonus wasn't valid to use at all on the second policy whilst still in use on the first

Best not mention that then Shifty They didn't ask for proof mind... I was planning on explaining the situation over the phone but if that's the case they could be dicks about it and charge me fees equivalent to a months insurance @ 0 years no claims could they not?

Getting refunded £520 from the original £600, so that's a months insurance that's I've used so far (£50) + their fee (£30) - fair enough. Then my new policy with the extra years no claims is £535 so it's all good Thumbs Up Next year I'll have 4 years NCD instead of 3 Thumbs Up

Good move, you don't want to get shagged later because you (accidentally) scammed them on that NCD.

I think insurers tend to assume that everybody knows that NCD is a "thing" that can only be transferred from one policy to another, rather than a "status" that applies to all policies. But there's no way to know this until you've had it explained.
