I've been on the cbf125 for a couple of months now after doing cbt in Feb. Did my theory last month and am no starting to think of doing my DAS. When I did my cbt, the instructor said I needed to book 3 days with them for my DAS at a price of £555 which includes the test fees.

Now I've been thinking about this and wondered if there is anything i particular i should be practising, or should I just get some more hours/miles in on the roads, I mean is the MOD 1 particularly hard, I hope I'm not tempting fate but when I've had a look through what it entails it doesn't seem to look too txing, or am I just be over confident?

Are you doing the DAS on a 125 or on the instructors' "bigger" bikes?

It's a piece of piss, there's nothing hard in it if you've been riding for a while, and you'll only fail it if you nob up, so don't nob anything up.

If you don't do much slow riding then I'd practice that, but the swerve and e-stop are trivial. Oh, don't bother using the rear brake on the e-stop unless it's pissing wet, just cover it, that way you can't lock it up.

I thought the mod one was really easy too. I had been practising using markers closer together than on the test, Made the test amazingly easy.

I did it in the pissing rain, the tarmac is super sticky, I had no issues with carrying some speed around the bend, and for the E-stop I used the rear brake lightly, Was easy.

You might be able to talk the training school into hiring their bike for the test, You will need a full license holder to convoy with you there though (I believe?).

Either way, Good luck.

Did my M1 a couple of weeks ago. Yes it is easy providing you go by a set procedure that your instructor will give you tuition on.

Easy it is, but you can f()()k it up in 1/2 a second with a daft mistake that you would kick yourself for.

Dont forget your observations as you go out of the test area after you 'think' its over.

The M2 'I dunno' ............. I will let you know this Thursday afternoon how I went on. Wink

Fill your tank up and get as many miles as you possibly can under your belt..... roundabouts, junctions, town & country environments.

Mod one can be practised in a curry's car park after hours. they put the course on-line, so mark it out with bits and pieces you find in the car park and run the bike round it a couple of times.

Your instructor will fine tune your riding during the lessons.

Ride to your lessons too.... that way you get used to doing things properly without an instructor behind you. That'll come in handy when your out on the test itself......
