A Pulse Adrenaline will be cheap. very cheap in fact. but it will not be fast.

I would safely say that the Pulse Adrenaline is the slowest motorised vehicle I have ever been on/in

It also has lovely nylon tyres for added danger when cornering, only had the pleasure of riding one in the dry but I imagine in the wet you would have some serious brown trouser moments.

Yeah, VFR750 Rolling Eyes Thats what I'm looking at for that kind of money....

Oh, sorry, yeah, you want a 125 becouse you dont have a licence....

Answer is fuck FAST, its a 125, they are NOT fast, even illegally de-restricted ones, and they certainly ent cheap, ESPECIALLY faster ones, de-restriocted or other wise.

Get a 'learner-commuter', something 'like' a CG125 or YBR125.

Decent YBR's are the bench-mark for VFM, but probably £300 out of your price range, but worth seeing if you can scrape the extra pennies together for.

CG125's are getting old, long in the tooth, and commanding premium prices, for bikes that on the whole are getting far less 'reliable'.

YBR, ought to give you pretty solid wheels that shouldn't give you many hassles, and if you look after it, ought to sell for close to what you bought it for within the year.

In budget, the Suzuki, GN125, I think is probably 'on the money'; more likely to get a newish one that stands better chance of not being thrashed to death, but bit more hit and misson resale values.

Get one; bugger the looks, bugger the performance, thing has to do ONE THING.......

Get you through the Mod 1 & Mod 2 tests to get you a FULL licence.

Do that before January, and you get a 33bhp licence, that power restriction automatically lapsing after 2 years, then you can ride ANY bike you kike, but in the mean-time, you get choice of stuff that makes less than 33bhp or can be restricted down to that, from the big-bike world.

33bhp is plenty enough 'FAST' compared to a learner-legal 125, even the most spirited of them. They are also cheaper to buy, most often, and if you pick a sensible one they can EVEN be cheaper to insure and run.

But the FULL LICENCE is they key.

Fast 125? Mike is going to tear you a new ars- DAMMIT!

Eh, what he said. You're asking the wrong question. Choose the bike that you really want to be on, then find the right bike to get you there.

Everybody and their dog wants a cheap 125, that's what makes them expensive. Wink

an Aprilia RS125 if you want to waste dumb amounts of money on the chavboy favorite to 'look fast' and pay high premiums for vanity

Get a 2-stroke (NSR or something) and derestrict it if you want to go fast (illegally)

Get a YBR or a CG if you're sensible
Good day sir

Mike's still the don

Like the others say any of the old favourites are good and proven. I plumped for a cbf125, which looks pretty good and "bigger" than a cg/ybr et al. But if i cold have found a hyosung comet 125 near me I would have gone for that, the price/speed ratio probably being the best. Of course " If i was a rich man" tra la la!!! I would get a yzf 125

Gonna join the miserable bastards corner on this one.

If you don't get a full license before Jan 2013, you will regret it for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.

The time for making threads on BCF is over. The time for action is upon you.

Perpetual L-Platers dont necesserily get on my tits; its all the crap they come out with to justify doing it to themselves....
"Oh I cant afford the tests!"
"I dont want a BIG bike"
"I cant afford anything bigger"
"I cant do tests, I'm not 21"
etc etc etc....
When what it boils sown to is that they are too lazy to do the tests, or too lazy to be bothered to find out thier facts, and really dont ACTUALLY have the 'enthusiasm' for bikes to give a shit, and find out, so long as they can potter about on their scooter, or raz around on thier tear-away-tiddler, thinking its all fun & giggles/
leatherbut wrote:

Carry on.. end of the day, the 125cc restriction is entirely self imposed. If you can afford a bike, you can afford to take the tests, they cost £121.50 for a full suite, and you can have them all done and dusted comfortably within three months if you put your mind to it, and you can legally ride any sized bike you like.

You want to stick with a 125? That's your perogative. But if you dont get that full licence before January, new rules will probably see you stuck with that tiddler for another five or six years or more, even if you DO man up to the tests.

Dont effect my world none, neither way.
