Has anyone here had any experiences of this insurance broker and insurer? I am looking to insure the Z750 and they seem to come up cheapest in every quotation comparison place I go to and no one seems to come close to there quotations & there minimal 250 Excess.

Theyve quoted me around £450 FC with 250 Excess but most other quotes are 550-600, ive even tried going direct to a few companies, which just cant come close to these guys, I think its prob because im a fresh biker on a big bike with 0 NCB so most independants want bigger bucks for possibly better policies.. (Swinton, etc)

Any negatives in going with Bikesure to get my first year out the way though?! Share your experiences with me.. Thumbs Up

I've no experience myself, but a guy on the CBF1000 forum is insured with them and has found them really good.

His bike was repaired under insurance but the dealer made a complete mess. ERS have been on his side and had independent inspection, contact with Honda and really gone to town on the dealer who repaired the bike. This whole affair went on over 6 months I believe but he says that ERS have been fantastic throughout.

Thanks for the input, I obtained the quote via Asda comparison after someone recommended it but ive now gone to bikesure directly and got a quote for £344 FC, quite a difference!! Just thought id ask for a few peoples experiences with them before stumping up the cash, I have heard some stories about non transferrable policies to different bikes if u suddenly decide on a different bike, will be asking them about this directly.

I'm with equity red star (although through Swinton) and when I changed my bike mid term they had no problem doing it. Just had to pay a 25 quid admin fee, although as the new policy worked out 50 quid a year cheaper they actually ended up reimbursing me. Smile

I'm with bike sure a.k.a Adrian Flux.

So far they seem fine, helpful ect. We pay for that at the end of the day!

I used the bikeinsurer, got a cheaper quote on there and they matched it, knocking their original quote 100 quid down and threw in legal cover, so I went for it. Thumbs Up

Equity Red Star have traditionally offered low quotes. They got busted by the FSA earlier this year for being under-underwritten though, and I thought they'd re-branded and backed away from the budget end of the bike market. Great news if they're back. Very Happy

I'm with Equity Red Star but through Swinton and I've had to make a claim recently and to be honest I haven't had the greatest experience but I think that's more down to Swinton rather then ERS.

I had virtually no help with the whole process and it was basically left to the third party's insurers to blame me for the whole thing and telling me they'll be claiming from my insurance. however, the other day I did get an email from ERS helping me.

So I guess ERS has been alright but I won't be touching Swinton again. And yeah I seem to have found ERS much cheaper than other insurers two years in a row now.
