iirc last time i was insured with them there was a monthly option. Maybe give them a call instead

So we're all clear, if you take a "pay monthly" policy this is (almost certainly) what you are doing, whether you realise it or not.
The broker pays the underwriter up front, you pay back that loan to the broker. If you cancel the policy, you still owe them the money, perhaps less anything that you get back from the underwriter, but with admin fees slapped on it.
In short, don't do it unless you have no other choice, and consider carefully what will happen if you have to cancel the policy - including changing bikes to one that the underwriter won't cover.
Don't expect to be treated reasonably, read the policy before agreeing to it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
