Hi all, finally got my NSR on the road, passed MOT etc without a hitch. Just one thing is that I'm having an intermittent problem with revving. Sometimes it wont go passed 7000 rpm and bogs down.Then it will. The bike is a Swiss import but has had the exhaust, PV cdi changed, carb up jetted but the main cdi is not a 626. Many thanks, Jim.

I would love to know this too, as my NSR is doing the same thing, it's really flat around 6000-7000rpm and struggles to get past this, once it does it starts moving again?

If the main cdi is still the swiss verion that could well be restricting revs.
is the servo motor working properly?

Servo seems ok, all adjusted properly with the TV-78 Cdi fitted. Red shunt also removed under seat. Trying to buy a ci626.

Solved my problem with a new battery, guess the spark was going very weak around that range.

New battery and a charge, minor hesitation (think they all do that) but otherwise 99% better.

the battery IS NOT RELATED WITH IGNITION as you can get started with a flat battery . the CDI is a AC-CDI system
look around cables and very often , people working on their bike reversed cables around the servo pulley
also remember that the power cannot be reached before 5mns of warming (sometimes up to 10 mns)
also look around the carb & tank tap (good cleaning will cure the problem)
if you are looking for a CI626 Ebay is the best

you will find also the right sequence as the pulley is working

Since you're all n00bs in this thread I'll just point out the Alains is god of all things NSR, listen to what he says, and if you doubt me just do a search for his posts.

Still got no idea how he knows when an NSR thread pops up though Laughing

Yep,
Alains the man when it comes to all things NSR!

A bit of a long shot but when you get into the powerband does it pull harder?
Until the engine is nice and warm it will hesitate and mine in particular just plain wont rev > 7,500 until warm! Even once warm it will usually hesitate the first time I pull through but once its warm/been through once it will be happy as Larry.

I to also agree with alains that the battery is unlikely to solve the problem. These bikes will run fine with a battery that wont even light a blinker (let alone turn a starter) and probably run fine if you removed the battery completely and shorted the harness terminals if you don't mind bumping (maybe put a capacitor in there somewhere). Thus I would suggest checking the HT lead/harness and alains suggestions.

Check out alains document and keep an eye on the bike. Enjoy the 2 stroke!
