Awesome manual ("podual"?) traction control.

Car needed a speedo that goes to 11.

I do hate the prodding on the throttle that Senna used to do, it just does not seem 'right'.

Great shoes and socks tho. Cool

Oh, and there was a black NSX outside my house the other night, it visits every couple of months, awesome vehicles.

I'm fully of the opinion that Senna was, and always will be, the greatest racing driver EVER.

There's once in a generation racers.
Then there's once in a lifetime racers.

Senna is a once in a history of the sport racer.

Senna was once asked what things frighten him most in racing-his reply was seeing nigel mansell in his mirrors, serious battles there!

It actually amazes me how few people know who ayrton senna was if you ask them, compared to if you ask if they know who lewis hammelton is. Most people have actually never heared of him, despite how much of a good driver he was.
It actually quite funny though. As im named after him it takes most people about 5 tries to say my name right Laughing

Senna was a legend, he wasn't the rags to riches racer a lot of people thought he was, his dad owned the national bank of brazil but nevertheless he was one of the best!

I've found the opposite actually, the number of people who know nothing about F1 or motorsport, yet know of Ayrton Senna and how great he was.

I'm also really pleased by the number of people I know who can think of nothing worse than sitting in front of the tv watching a few hours of F1 on a sunday afternoon, yet watched the Senna movie, and absolutely loved it.

Ayrton Senna was a ruthless driver though also.

Would happily run his car off the track or run another off to win a championship.

He would also never back down in an iffy situation and would rather crash than back down.

That's racing! But if any modern driver does it, then they'll be dangerous. Such as Schumachers move on Barrichello a few years ago.

But it's all forgotten about with Senna, because he was great Rolling Eyes

Agreed. Presumably he only gets away with it because the NSX is gutless. Wonder how the technique would work with a car with grunt. I can imagine my Skyline stepping the arse end out on ever prod.

Arguably the best racing driver in history does something that you don't understand, and you assume that there's a fault in his technique rather than in your understanding? https://smiliesftw.com/x/smiley-rofl.gif

Where did either of us say it was a fault in his technique? Too much trolling for the chance to have a dig, not enough reading of whats typed Rolling Eyes

We agree that it doesnt seem right, not that it wasnt effective.

You know the ins and outs of my Skyline better than I do to be able to state that the same technique wouldnt result in repeat lurid slides had he tried it with a 6.7 grunty V8 rather than a gutless revy NSX?

He used this exact same method when powering through a corner in an F1 car. I watched a documentary years ago that showed his telemetry overlayed on Prosts and whereas Prosts was smooth through the corners Sennas was spiky to say the least - pretty damn effective though.

No argument from me, if I was on the limit Id have binned it many a time had I been attempting to prod the throttle like that. Doesnt change the fact that it looks odd.

He did it in F1 all the bloody time too, logic says it would upset the car's balance horrifically mid corner etc, but it worked for him.

It is, however, one of the main reasons I'm not a Senna fan, as successful as he was. There's not much science in his driving.

Senna wasn't truly a "fast" driver, what he was, was a racer. And a very good one at that!

He was great at straight line speeds or tight slow corners, but long fast sweeping bends.............................. Shocked

Can't drive like Senna, can't express yourself like what clearly me I do, it's just a cavalcade of failures. Sad

Driving shouldn't be about science as far as the driving is concerned, it's the premier class and it should be about natural skill, balls and a total lack of fear.

I like the likes of Mansell, Damon Hill, Button. There is just something about them that makes you want to rout for them no matter what car they drive or where they end up. Not a fan of Eddie Jordan, Coultard, James Hunt, Stewart or Hamilton. they just lack that special something in my view. The little guy who's name escapes me but was arund at the same time as Jordan/hill/Mansell was ok too. i don't think he won anything except respect.
