Im currently suffering in my Bike trousers they are supposedly waterproof breathable ones but in effect i spend all day sitting in my own sweat wether rain or shine. If i still end up wet I do wonder what the point of water-proof trousers actually is.

Are there any good trousers out there that are properly breathable as well as having protection but not basically sweat collecting bags. I would rather not buy the kevlar jeans type trousers as I have just never liked jeans.

Is there a solution to this or is being a biker a sweaty life sentence?

Draggin Jeans combats

I have a green/white pair that have had about five years service and quite fancy the purple cammo next.

Pricey, but at times I have virtually lived in mine.

Why do you sweat so hardcore Laughing
They sound like my gloves, pretty soon you'll get asshole stankin legs Wink

Do you wear trousers underneath? I use my armoured trousers over my regular trousers, usually suit trousers with them on top, sitting in them at my PC for hours yeah i'll get sweaty, but generally I only wear them when i'm riding, no point sitting around in biking gear Shocked

I have wicking base layers from when i used to hillwalk but they still make you feel clammy. Also if they are man made materials then they can get smelly pretty quick.

Venting. Next pair you buy, pay a wee bit more and ensure they have some nice Summer zip vents.

The wind shall be rushing through your nether regions.

Least, that's what I just done Very Happy

I have similar trousers and when I wear them over any other trousers I'm fine. But If I have them just over underwear my legs sweat massively - I guess bit of cotton between skin and textile makes a difference.

are you serious? It's like 13 degrees where I am during the day and I can't wear leathers without feeling chilly. I have to put thermals inside them and im still cold.

I'm fine in thermal textiles though....

Are Kevlar jeans really good enough? I've been looking at them and keep thinking I'll get some, but they are quite expensive, and I wonder if they'd offer as much protection as a pair of textiles I could get for the same sort of money

Ive got a paiir of Draggin jeans and love them, they give so much more freedom of movement than leathers and they are so much more breathable.

I've got a pair of Hood Kevlar Jeans, olive green cargo style, they withstood a crash that broke my collar bone, and shredded my waterproof over trousers. The outer material has a (now patched thanks to my wonderful fiancée) hole, but the kevlar underneath is untouched. I'm happy with them.

I have a pair of Red Route Kevlar Jeans. They are good value compared to others, comfy, and come with removable CE armour in the knees.

I used to have a pair of textiles that had a breatheable mesh around the crutch, inner thigh, and had zips on the lower legs to allow air in...they were really good. Got them from J&S Accessories.

+1 Thumbs Up I also have the Red Route demin jackets in Black & Blue which I find great in the summer as they are vented.

Ive decided im going to just buy some of the kevlar jeans and take out the lining and make the lining into a pair of under trousers i can wear under any other trousers and fit knee and hip prtectors to them.

The reason i dont like denim is its a rubbish material really and awfull when wet it chaves and dousent dry out for ages and its a lot weaker than people think compared to modern good quality poly cottons.

Having an off-road orientated bike I've gone for some motocross pants. They do the job and at 50ish the wind blows through them like sails. They do the job Smile
