+1 to that.

Have the same set up. Not cheap but does work. Had nearly 1 mile range out of it in open country side but urban wise the range drops quite a bit. Still a good investment Thumbs Up

Auto-Coms are NOT radio's; they are just an 'interface' for the headset & add functionality as to what other devices you can port into it. You need to add radios to them for bike to bike comms, and neither is 'cheap'

However, handly link for you:

Arrow Bike 2 Bike Communication.... where to start

Ought to answer everything you want to know! Start with a decent helmet headset, then work from there; and you have choice between short range PMR442, that's cheap & cheaful and 'every-body' uses, or mobile CB, that is more expensive, more robust, offers better range & reliability, but not so many people use.

Any number of cheap grey market import chinese ham radio sets will put out 2-5 watts on the pmr446 band. These for example or these if you do not have the programming cable.

But as Mic said you nead a GOOD headset or everything will suck. Also VOX is such fail, just forget about it now.

They are what peole are talking about when they mean rider to pillion communication. Thumbs Up like I said if it is for bike to bike you would need two systems and two radios. Rolling Eyes
