Bought this

https://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_163079_langId_-1_categoryId_255215

after reading on the web seemed to be a fair tool for a fair price, not too sound retarded or anything but i assumed the torque wrenches would have a way to set a specific torque (e.g 40nm) this is not the case so how in gods name would i set a specific torque for nut on my bike ? (cbf 125)

thanks people

That's a socket set, not a torque wrench.

This is a torque wrench

Look on the bright side, you can do a lot more servicing jobs with that socket set! The Halfords Professional Advanced torque wrenches are really good and very accurate and the 3/8 inch one covers 8-60Nm, which is ideal for the CBF.

Why would you want to use a torque wrench for removing wheels?

While torque wrenches are really good bits of kit, if you're doing up a bolt and you're thinking that it's being done up too tight, just stop and think for a second if you're doing it right. Don't have blind faith in the torque wrench, go with your instincts as well.

I see, good advice, i am new to bikes and the theory is with my bike (cbf125, brand new) i can start to learn about the maintenance from the ground up and obviously means shelling out on GOOD quality equipment and also getting the knack of using them too, thanks!
