Evening all.
Am rebuilding the bottom end of an NSR125RY engine,
bottom end is going well but I was wondering if anyone had any experience on piston kits from wemoto?
At only £25 bucks I'm not expecting the world but they dont specify anything about the pistons/rings etc (can be found here and would rather get one if it wont last long/blow up my top end.
What's a good safe bet/other options?
Best regards

Your options are :
a. Fit the Wemoto pattern parts & sell it before it blows up.
b. Fit OEM parts & get a few more miles out of it . . . before it blows up & you can no longer sell it.
Either way, there's no guarantee with the parts 'cos you'd be fitting them yourself & when they fail it becomes obvious you fitted them wrongly.
On a slightly more serious tangent, I've never come across a 125 2t that needed a bottom end re-build where the top end wasn't equally, if not more knackered.
If it needs more than bottom end bearings + a rebore with +size piston & rings then it's foobar m8. |

I can certainly see your angle there but I should have mentioned that the engine is mostly in excellent condition, only the previous owner left it in a bin bag in a garden for a fair while thus the big end bearings are foo-bar...
Aside that the rest of the bottom end was dry and oiled and is all well within limits (clutch plates/springs/gear forks/teeth/dogs etc in great condition).
Although the piston seems to be okay and the bore looks superb I figured it would be worth replacing the piston whilst I'm there.
I've had the engine thats in the bike now for a fair while and had the top end off that a couple of times and in >10k it dosnt look like I fitted it wrong... Its only a 2 stroke top end
Best regards
