Mick-H attempting 1000miles on C90 in 24 hours! Right now!

Hi guys.
I hope admin, and mods don't mind me posting this, it is for a good cause! (I've been here a while, just lurking in the shadows! Hi all)

Mick is currently trying to ride 1000 miles on a Honda C90 on UK roads right now! He left this morning and has been making good progress since!
It's believed now he may have turned his phone off to save battery so we do not have a recent update, but as of 3pm he had done 217 miles averaging 42.4mph.

Mick is doing this for 2 charitys, Help for heroes, and Bolton Hospice. This means he has 2 just giving pages.

For fucks sake, i'm getting a bit tired of this charity shit now.

You cant walk down a highstreet, answer your door or browse a forum now without someone trying to blag money off you.

If its for PROPER charities, i.e where no one makes a wage from it and kids, animals or those otherwise in hardship through no fault of their own, then i will chip in what i can.

This will probably offend those of a sensitive nature, but not everyone who joins the forces is a hero...

I have had quite a few mates join the army, and none of those are heroes.

Yes, i know, there are some soldiers/sailors/crabs that do heroic things, but isnt that what they are paid to do?

I would rather support the British Legion - at least they arent on a mind washing crusade to convince us all that joining up is the route to martyrdom/sainthood.

Not in a financial state to be donating, especially to Help for Heroes, which I disagree with on quite a few levels.

However, if he manages to do 1000 miles in 24 hours on a c90 I will be impressed - at least it's a bit better than your average "going to do 200 miles a day on a 250cc+ bike" kind of jolly.

[edit] - He failed to make it 25 hours and 4 minutes to do 1000 miles. In old-school money, that'd mean you don't get your donations because you failed to complete the challenge.

Ignoring the charity angle, I have to say 25 hours for 1000 miles on a C90 is fairly bloody impressive.

That's 40mph for an entire day straight, or 50mph with four hours' rest. Can't see a stock C90 doing much better than that.

Numb bum galore.

And he's managed to raise more than the fuel cost which will be less than 100 quid for a C90, so all in all, job well done. These sort of things make much more sense on fuel efficient bikes.

I too have misgivings about my charity £ ending up in the pockets of H4H, but Bolton Hospice seems to be worthy of a few quid.

Is this 1000ml in 24hr on a C90 to be done on an off road circuit?

Because I don't think that anyone should be riding on public roads whilst sufferring the obvious fatigue of 24hr riding !

If/when he has his accident due to nodding off on a particularly long & boring straight bit, lets hope he doesn't put anyone in hospital as a result.

Does anyone involved in this farce actually realise that attempting to ride for 24hrs is illegal ?
