As in title

- Dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ CPU
- ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard
- 2Gb RAM (2 x 1Gb Geil PC3200, leaving 2 slots free)
- 250Gb HDD (Western Digital Caviar SE16 7200rpm SATA-II)
- NVIDIA GeForce 7800GT PCIe video (2 cards in SLI mode)
- 7.1 Sound (Creative Audigy2 ZS DVD-Audio capable)
- DVD-Writer (Pioneer DVR-110D DVD-RW)
- 2 Gigabit network ports

£130

Would it be able to run BF3 say?

Shit processor n too little RAM.

My processor is the 5200+ I think and that struggles like mad with Black Ops.

Im also running a 9500GT card..1GB which runs it, but on low ish settings.

For £130 I'd buy as a spare machine for light games but not for Black ops/BF3

Thanks for the reply, would it be better value just to get a new machine then, rather than try and upgrade this one?

Not sure about your board, but mine wont handle much higher than my current CPU.

I'd start on overclockers at a basic gaming setup with no graphics card for about £300, then add a decent card a GTX560 I think is out and ~£100 if you look.

Then case + decent PSU should get you sorted. Its an expensive business this PC gaming Laughing

i sold better machine than that 2 years ago for the same money. you wont get much more than that CPU in the motherboard so upgrading that altho possible you will only upgrade to a faster version of what you have (like a 5200 instead of 4200)

i hate to bring this up but you can buy bundle for around 150 quid with good onboard/on cpu graphics better cpu more ram and improve you upgrade path. there is some pretty good info in deaks thread about desktop pc upgrade if you wanna take the route of building a new machine
