Hi Chaps

Just had an interesting one, up early to make the most of decent weather, a few mile down the road I hear the chain slapping good and proper. I pull over to find one side of the link has been demolished, is this a common thing?

I rode for two year a bit back and racked up a fair few miles and never came across this?

Has someone fitted the chain for you?
If it was a new chain there should have been a new link assy with a new side plate to connect the new chain.
They use an interference fit to hold the plate onto the ends of the pin.
If not connected properly or an old link was re-used they could split.

I only bought the bike last week, it's low miles so possibly the original chain. I adjusted it as normal and away I went, I guess it's one of them things. DID gold chain on order - Missing decent weather today though, gutted.
