i found some razors better than others and some cut my legs really easily so personally i'd say it does depend on the razor and trying a decent one might help.

I now avoid the whole nightmare and use an epilator. . .but obviously don't try that on your face Wink

had a mach 3 as a pubescent teen, which worked for me. got a fusion a year or two back when they were on a ridiculous promo. i find that they no longer work for me. i get quite thick facial hair that just clogs up the razor and causes some pretty bad razor burn. wasn't really getting much life out of the blades or a particularly close shave. i tried a few different cremes and gels. best i found was the one from the body shop. even then still got razor burn unless the blade was brand new.
switched to DE a few months ago. no more razor burn, still on the same blade although i think it will need replacing after the next couple of shaves. best shave i have ever had. only thing is it takes a little bit of practice and a little more time that cartridge razors. i do however get a much better shave out of it. also even some of the more expensive blades are around the 50p mark. cheapest ones i have found are around 20p

Couldn't wet shave every day. Would end up scarred.. I use an electric shaver during the week; let it grow out from Friday to Sunday, and then wet shave on the Monday... Keeps the missus happy.

Decent razors and Wilkinson's Sword shaving gel. Shave after a hot bath/shower if it makes his face sore.

King of Shaves shaving oil, about £3-4 for a little bottle but it lasts ages. I used to get bad shaving rash but from the day i started using it, stopped right away!

The good old days when I could get away with shaving once a month *sigh*

Anyway I found that if I try shaving every day I get very bad shaving rash, so I'll shave every 3 days or something, but then I have tabby* facial hair anyway, so it's usually not very noticable for the first couple of days (he says lying to himself).... also I've found shaving upwards always gives a closer shave.

*Chin grows dark, sideburns ginger and moustache blonde (although the kids said it was grey)

A couple of days ago I bought a Philips aqua touch wet and dry electric shaver. Used it with shaving gel and no razor burn, no discomfort and I am bloody delighted.

I had/have a bad habit of plucking hairs from me face with me'fingers

not paintfull at all once you've had a few years of shaving.

So then I got an epilator for shits an giggles wanted to see if it would be quicker. Bloody hell hairs fly out of it like a machine gun!! was quite satisfying to see/hear!

Also face hairs go right through the skin. 6-10 mm long if your shaven. That shocked me a little.

Works well for face but not neck... but tbh eleccy shaver is just easier and much less noisy.. but no shaving rash
