Looks like Alonso and Ferrari are back! (Massa not included) but where the hell did Maldonado come from! The grid looks good for tomorrow but I'm guessing that Maldonado will go backwards and the battle will be between Alonso, Hamilton and the two Lotus cars with Vettel, Webber and Button next up

I wouldn't say Ferrari are back as such. Alonso did OK in quali though.
Hamilton flew. That lap in q3 was insane.
Williams have been doing well this year. Absolutely fantastic session by Pastor.

It is becoming quali of luck with temperatures dropping and how the tyres work.

I predict race finish to be Ham, Alonso, Kimi. Perhaps in another order.

I saw the result from Q2 and had to triple take the TV just to check that i actually saw Maldonado on top of hamilton on the grid!

The Lotus guys will be good if the track temperature is more like it was Friday, 30s rather than 40s. They were significantly faster on race fuel than anyone else. Romain slightly moreso than Kimi.

Don't rule out the Red Bulls or Jenson though. Remember the race Kimi had in Bahrain with a van full of new tyres to pick from. It's a massive advantage.

Assuming Lewis' problem doesn't involve a gearbox change I predict a podium of Lewis, Vettel and Grosjean. Not necessarily in that order.

Just heard (unconfirmed) that Lewis has been dq'd from quali for not having enough fuel on board. He'll start from the back or pit lane tomorrow.

Revised podium; Vettel, Kimi, Romain in any order.

The only oddity is Maldonado. Not sure what their race pace is like.

This. Provided whatever issues he's been having with the handling of his car is fixed, failing to get into Q3 will have lit a fire underneath him. at 16-1, my money's gone on him e/w. And lets face it, now Button is the best hope for the Mc team, they're going to be pulling an all nighter getting it just right, that and the fact that provided it doesn't rain, he's going to have the advantage of more fresh tyres in the shed than everyone in front of him.

I bet Pastor is going to be giggling like a school girl leading the formation lap round tomorrow! Laughing

Alas, that won't be the case. The cars are now in Parc Ferme, there is pretty much nothing that they can change in terms of setup on his car. He's also confirmed that he doesn't have any new softs left so he has no tyre advantage.

It's another bad day for Mclaren and another step closer to championship number 3 for Alonso.

The softs won't be of much use tomorrow anyway.

It's cause he's black.
JB has been quick on the softs, but struggled on the hards so it'll be a disappointing race for him. Lewis on the other hand has great pace and will now be extra motivated to go for it. He'll get points for sure and might even beat Button.
I've been predicting Vettel for this race all along, but Alonso looks to have a decent chance. A good result for Lotus will make me very happy!

Alonso will be quick but I reckon a Lotus will take it, their longer stints in practice were really good. Vettel will probably be right up there too. But I'm kind of hoping Maldonado will win it because thats the more amusing outcome.

Maldornado is 200/1. Worth a £2 valuebet IMO.

Hamilton is 4/1 which is insane.

He's gonna be angry, and he's 1 and a half seconds faster than even the 10th placed driver. I'd not bet against him having a high points finish, if he can keep his cool a bit and not do anything silly. Problem is he's got the Ferrari roadblock not far ahead of him Rolling Eyes

Hamilton is 20/1 to win now on SkyBet.

Put a couple of quid on him.

Finish on the podium £1 @ 9/2
Finish in the points £1 @ 2/5
Win the race £1 @ 20/1
Set the fastest lap £1 @ 4/1

EPIC race.

I think I was looking at the wrong page for those odds. I think it was fastest lap.

Hamilton did an amazing job. 24th to 8th with only 2 stops. Definably the man of the match.

Williams were fantastic. Go Pastor.

The one thing I did call right.. Lol

Great race as a spectator. Frustrating as a competitor. The first stint on the softs was just not fast enough for the Lotuses/Loti.

A few more laps and it would have been interesting with Raikkonen catching up so quickly. Well done Pastor and Ferrari are back in the mix Cool
