over the past 4 weeks.

I'll try to just give the highlights/relevant info.

It all started when I was on my way back from picking up some bike parts from a place in north wales.

Chain got fuxord. Phone work told them I'll be late.
Work mate said he would cover my shift.
I would cover his at 2am.

Had to call the RAC out, they sent a patrol van, he didnt have the tool need to fix a chain but gave it a bash with a hammer and mole grips.
Made it worse.
Argued the toss with RAC for hours.
Ended up getting the bike recovered home.

Didnt goto work cos i was freezing cold, been out in the rain all day, proper blue lipped and ball sack cold.

The "company policy" about this is "inform your manager at least 2hrs before the shift starts"
Phoned my boss's work mobile at midnight it was off, sent him a txt to his personal mobile to let him know the score, then went to bed.

Went in the next day, got dragged into a meeting room and was told "We are suspending you on full pay pending an investigation regarding Unauthorised Absence and an allegation of smoking in the office out of a window."

Laffin, walked out.

Over the past few weeks i have:-
Getting up at 11am
Going to bed at 3am
Fucking about with the bike
Hanging out with the lads
Spamming BCF, ZXRWorld, NWB, PH and countless other forums.
Along with Chillin out maxin, actin all cool.

I have been back into the office twice so they can ask me questions, get all the facts, try to pin shit on me.

To be honest, they have been gunning for me for a while.

Anyways, went back in the office today for the final meeting/hearing/we are gonna fire you even though none of this shit would stick chat.

I sat down and told them i am resigning as i have secured a job elsewhere, which i have and is the same money, normal hours and a more interesting job.

They asked me why, my reply was.

"The recents events sum the company up really. Having an employee suspended on full pay for 3weeks, not really on to be honest.
This place is far to immature as a company, it is full of people who are more concerned with looking good and being better than everyone else rather than people who just want to get the job done."
Said thanks for the paid holiday, collected my stuff and left.

This is a company that can get a policy drafted, approved and enforced to prevent hoodies being work in the office within 20mins, but after a year the IT Service Desk still dont have the access to clear a print queue. Rolling Eyes

Being free of that place is a great relief.
Cant wait to start the new job, no need for shirt n tie.

I'm guessing that he means the pay that he has received whilst being suspended.

A certain person who needs to ride or get laid more I think, peeps need to chill Karma

Anyway nice one Cansa, took the smart route if you've got another job to go to without much fuss, even if you didn't a company that looks in on itself thinking bullshit like banning items of clothing takes priority over worker satisfaction and productivity is probably a lost cause and barely worth hanging round for Thumbs Up

So you told your boss to stick his job, all be it very politely. Good on you. I was called into the office in my last job before and told I was getting pulled up on a disciplinary "next week". It was my weekend off and in the few days I got me another job and called them told them to stick it.

The reasons for my disciplinary is even more comical than yours.

I failed to write "nothing" in a box that had nothing in. Yes folks, a box with nothing in it was supposed to have "nothing" written in it. Confused? So was I.

This was after they passed me on promotion and gave it to a youngster with no kitchen experience who I trained to cover my days off. Rolling Eyes

Sometimes the employers really have no idea how ground level works.

what you doing now then? i like my shirt and tie job, nothing better than your mates seeing you and going:

Mate/Family member: "you look smart, you going some where nice/going to court"

Me: "nah, just work clothes..."

Unless of course your policy was white shirts only and company tie, which would blow

Its better to do this in his desk draw, the bottom one so you can squat better and it takes longer to find.

A shirt and tie is like tying a corporate noose around your neck.

After I got a job in IT, I stayed working in the coffeeshop I worked in on weekends to get even more cash in.
They owed me a load of holiday pay, so I dropped it down to one weekend in three, so other supervisors could get a weekend off occasionally. (Nicely, I was still accruing holiday pay for this time of course, as well as still getting some money every week.)

We were allowed to take a weekly small bag of coffee, which I never took normally (maybe twice in my time). It turned out my mum was passing through, so I got a big bag to give to her (still massively less than I could have taken if I'd had one every week). I was dobbed in for this, district manager came in, looked through my bag while working and sent the store manager in to nab me on leaving.

I was suspended on full pay (remembering I had only been working one weekend in three anyway) for five weeks; contracted for 16 hours a week, so got around £1k for it, as well as getting even more holiday owed. At the end of that I got... a verbal warning!
I did start making an official complaint against the district manager for looking in my bag (she claimed she knocked it with her foot accidentally and it fell open), but in the end couldn't be bothered and just quit.

It all stemmed from another supervisor (considerably older than me) who didn't like that I was left in charge of the store in the manager's absence twice.

Shirt and tie for work is just like any other uniform/overalls. You have your work clothes and you have your at home clothes.

And I'll happily stick a noose around my neck if I'm paid well to do so and can take it off at the end of the day Smile.

Can't see what he's bitching about. 3 weeks full pay for sitting on your arse. That's usually called a holiday.
