There is a camera controlled car park that I recently overstayed my welcome in with my car and had to pay a £50 fine.

In this car park, there are cameras facing the entrance from the inside. I presume they record your number place as you go in, and as you go out, and see if you have stayed too long.

BUT - since bikes have no number place on the front...can I stay as long as I like in this car park?

You don't have to pay a fine, you may have been sent an invoice that looks like a fine. Is it Parking Eye by any chance? Ignore it if it is!

I think its euro car parks but I can't remember (it's probably not because they let you stay free for several hours usually). And I know, I've only just found out that you don't have to pay apparently! Wish I knew at the time. The "invoice" was sent to my parents house though, not my house at uni, so they paid it and then called me up to tell me I owed them!

Since you know better, please don't say "had to pay a fine". It only encourages halfwits like your parents to pay any random invoice that comes through the door as long as it has a scary looking letterhead on it and plenty of do not ignore this demand or we will send another demand ranting in it.

Thinking

What's their name and address, I have... uh... something to send them.
