Hey,
Just bought a new (used) set of carbs for the bandit and quite a few things are different. It is for a 1995 Bandit 400 whereas mine is 1991.
The top cap has a longer holder for the spring and the spring seems shorter but tighter, the float is slightly different as the needle valve sits inside a chamber on the bodies instead of inside a chamber inside the float assembly.
Also, the main jet is a 55 whereas the one on my bike is a 100. I am aware that is a massive difference, what should I do? Put the 100 in or leave the 55?
Not checked the pilot jet as my idle is poor anyway.
Also, the throttle is a push/pull cable. Not sure my cable is long enough as it is a single pull type. Will I have to put a push/pull on or if mine is the right length will that do?
Should I sort the jetting/cables and forget about the other differences or return the carbs?
Cheers fellas ____________________ Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3 |

Turns out the mains are 95 Also the float assembly is sort of the same, just a different way of going about it as they are transferable from my original ones to the new ones and vice versa.
But the throttle cable is too small and some of the screws were/are now rounded of so I'm gonna have to crack out the drill tomorrow.
But just test fitting them with no airbox or throttle cables, it sounds so much better, idles smoothly and sounds so different under revs, much better!
Can't wait to get the new throttle cables and give it a try. ____________________ Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3 |
