I always liked the Honda ss50, i had no idea it was slower than everything. It had a cool exhaust. Cool
What is it with all the hero worship of Fissies? When i started riding (in 1983) they were just bikes, nobody really lusted after them did they? They wern't really seen as any different to any other 50.
Oh and Chris Spedding was a womble and secret pistols guitarist

Cool song! I like the unashamed and quite innocent enthusiasm for 'motorbiking.../motorcycling' it presents to the idle listener.

This one is also a favourite:

Bought my FS1E from Masons of Wanstead £209. brand new with free indiactors on HP...and paid it up in a year...those were the days.!

Took the baffles out and had a rubber speedo ring...well fast..Lol

pain in the arse finding garages that done the 2 stroke oil additive though.
A man in the garage used to stick his nozzle in me tank and give me a couple of squirts Embarassed Those were the days pre self service..

I had 3 nifty fifties when i was 16. I started off with an FS1E, 'M' registered (the first time around) on my 16th birthday, way back 1980. I only had it a couple of months before i destroyed the engine totally. My dad was quite insistent that it be replaced with a more reliable 4T 'ped, so off we went to buy a Honda SS50. This was actually a really good little bike once the burned out exhaust valve had been replaced. It was a later 5 speed model in custard yellow. Anyway, I only had it a few weeks before it was stolen!!! Gutted. My dad was very understanding and gave me the money to buy a replacement until the insurance paid out. So, I acquired my final 16'er - A Suzuki AP50. The AP was definitely the best of the three. It was faster, sounded better, and would start first kick every time. I eventually sold the AP to put down the deposit on the first proper bike - A brand spanking new Kawasaki Z250A3!! Happy Days indeed
