Jesus! Did it just start thundering/hailing anywhere else?

Within about 1min flat it went from clear skies to this...

Quite glad i got new tyres recently otherwise the drive home could have been REALLY interesting!

I hope you've ran those new tyres in then.

I've been out in weather like that on the bike. Every time I twisted the throttle, the bike just went sideways. Had to put it in top gear and plod along at 20mph. Roads were a sheet of ice. Surprised That was this summer too!

Yeah the tyres had 100miles on them the the day i got em Very Happy
Doesn't help that my ride home from work consists of twisty country roads but i'm sure it'll be fine, just have to be a tad more careful than normal on the throttle! I managed to ride to/from work last year in the snow+ice etc without too many problems, just made it a bit more hmm whats the word... "interesting" around the corners!

Well i just rode home from college, Halfway home the heavens opened. Shocked That was the worst weather I have ridden in, My visor just became a blur from the mist, I opened it so i could see and I'm blinded by rain in my eyes. Exclamation Is there any anti-fog stuff that you can recommend and anything that would make the water run off my visor better ?

Get yourself a fog-city insert, they're brilliant and don't cost too much. Never used the sprays so can't comment on them.

If that happens just open the visor a little bit - the fog soon clears (although the rain doesn't) Wink

Of all the weather you can ride a motorbike in, hailstones suck the most. I once got caught on the M74 in a monster hailstorm just behind a thunderstorm. The hailstones were about 5mm accross, at 80mph that hurts even through a set of bellstaff leather jeans!

I once got caught in a hailstorm on my moped when I was wearing an open faced lid. It is the only occasion I have ever had to stop and get off my bike because the weather was too bad to ride it any further.

Clear blue sky here in Manchester too, though a tad windy.

Forget riding in that, I am not that brave. I would have moaned at a colleague until they took pity and gave me a lift home.

Rode to work the other day and it was windy and pouring with rain. Filtering between cars whilst slipping off cat-eyes was not much fun. 2 hours later bright blue skies!
