Hey guys, have decided on a rough route that I will be taking this summer across Europe. Ferry is booked for June 13th, will be in Europe for a month or so before getting the ferry back.

This is it!

If you have any ideas for places to see along the way and things we (got a pillion) shouldn't miss, give me a shout!

The bike is a ZZR 600, pictures will come with a write up, eventually. We're hoping to camp wild for most it (got a tent).

Getting very, very excited.

We went to Slovenia from Austria, then into Italy. We had a ride into the Triglav national Park and went for a trip in the ski lift. There is also a waterfall there, I thought it was worth the climb up the 500+ uneven steps to look at it. If you have bad knees or back then I would probably not recommend the climb.

I see you have Lake Bled on your list, which is the touristy lake. Lake Bohinj is better IMO. It is pretty much on your route as well.

Looks great. Most people on here tend to try and cover that distance in like 10 days, but for a month you're trip looks bang on.

Piran in Slovenia is nice and only a short ride to Italy from there.

Grossglockner in Austria is awesome, some really nice little towns around that area too.

Can't say much about Italy i've never liked riding through it, dirty, shit drivers, congested etc..

Monaco is cool, but visit Menton 10km away if you want to just chill out for a couple of days. It's a really nice relaxed town. The beach is better in Monaco though.

Avoid Marsellie it's a hole, Montpelier is meant to be a fun student town from chat with a random Frenchy at a party on Saturday.

Cheers for the input guys. Really good to hear suggestions of places we should see along the way.

Yeh, we are allowing a lot of time faffing about and just chilling out in nice places we find along the way. No point rushing through it all on motorways.

The route is just the bare bones, not the exact roads we will be following, just marking out areas we want to visit. So while we are near Lake Bled, we probably will check out Triglav & things around there etc.

As for Italy, hoping that staying that close to the coast will mean we miss out major cities and just come up on rural villages etc. Also, Amalfi coast Shocked

I would vary the route to/from barcelona. Go over the Pyrenees through Andorra. That way you get far more scenic route + fill up on cheap fuel too! Wink

On your run up the coast towards Genoa, check out Camogli, its a very nice fishing village Thumbs Up Having said that, there's probably 100s like it on the rest of the trip Laughing

Sooner or later opinions fade and the name on the tank matters not. I think that happens somewhere between 3rd and 4th gear. Enjoy the ride... everything else takes care of itself.

+1 on Marseille...full of crooks and apart from the coast road that goes out of it, nothing to recommend it Rolling Eyes

Try La Ciotat, and Cassis...much nicer Wink

As for Slovenia, how about Postonja caves...stunning!

otherwise a nice trip out Thumbs Up
