Hi just wondering if buying a cosmetically repaired cat D bike has any effect on the insurance premiums?

Never seen an insurance company ask; but do expect a bit lower payout if it does get crashed or stolen, as they (reasonably) consider it to be worth less.

Nope.. not even cat c does.

Never had an insurance company ask either, but some do have it
as part of their 'assumptions' that the bike hasn't been part of a total
loss claim.

But then I only do 3rd party, so being a write off at some point isn't
really relevant, its more relevant if you have TPFT or fully comp.

So I suppose they wouldn't have a record of the bike's history which would come up and thereby load premiums.
I see what you mean about payouts possibly being less which I suppose is reasonable, more concerned about the premium being loaded due to it.
Bike has had a new tank, nose cone and professional respray as far as I'm told.
