That appears to be good news and a step back from the nanny state wanting to wrap people in cotton wool.
Shame can't put bikes pre 1992 in that category for a couple of mine ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...

Thing is though, how many people own a bike that old? I haven't seen one in yeaars. It would make sense any bikes pre 1980. |
They wouldn't do that though what with that stupid scrappage scheme and the fact the labour government stopped rolling 'historic tax' in the late 90's.
Rolling History Tax meaning: that every year you gained ever closer to the tax break zone. And when your car was 25 it became tax free. After all, a person who has a vehicle over 25 years is either an enthusiast or poor.
But now it's 39 years. Only cars before 1973 (1997-25 (do the maths). Those cars slowly rot away due to scaresity of parts or lack of funds to keep them going, the money towards tax could have saved them.
But then it's not in any government's business to keep old vehicles (esspecially cars), if that country makes new cars. It wants the profit. After all, that's why the scrappage scheme was created, because there were too many new cars and the government wanted them shifted; and at the same time they get rid of all the old cars. And for what really? Looks? Power?
These things shouldn't matter, any upper class car from the 70's and 80's although dated in their design asphetically or mechanically could still give a modern car a run for their money, even if they do lose the race at the end of the day.
Carbon emmissions? Fuck off! Take into the account the amount of old cars on the road at this minute in comparison to how many new ones there are, then compare that to the global waste. It's not even a Gnat's diddly dick difference.
