Not getting on with a bike...

Hi All,

Any of you ever had this? I've recently bought a zx6, when I bought it it was spot on - immaculate and a seemingly good fit for my size as it seems quite high and low pegs compared to other bikes i'd been on.

Ive only just noticed however I can't seem to feel 'locked' in on it, by that I mean the ridges in the tank are very high and a chore to lock a knee against.

Anyone else had niggley issues as such or am I just a fussy bugger!?!

How many miles have you done on it?

When my dad bought his TL-R new in '99 he wanted rid after a few months, but now he says it's one of the best bike's he's ridden. Maybe it'll just take some getting used to?

When i bought cbr600f i couldnt "hook up" with it.
Then i got some new rubber, dunlop roadsmarts, and it was bloody awesome.

I ended up loving that bike.

Understand completely, my Triumph Tiger is in immaculate condition, full touring kit, but even with the seat at the lowest position I still feel like I'm on tip toes - just feel its a matter of time before I slip. No much fun to ride, because it's ALL stop-start in Guernsey.

I felt like that with my Trumpet, the tank is very narrow and difficult to lock a knee under when hanging off or brace against whilst braking. I also sit on it rather than in it which I don't mind but when coupled with a narrow tank its a bit difficult to feel secure. The geometry is otherwise good for me, I'm 5'10" and don't feel cramped or stretched.

Some Techspecs have solved those problems, the best £40 or so I've spent on a bike.

Bike's had about 300 mile so far which isn't a lot granted. Tyres are 208 dunlops, I remember these on my first bike a cbr 600f and I swapped them for some diablo's and noticed a big difference. Maybe the tyre thing is an issue or I've just been very lucky and every other bike I've rode fits me perfect lol.

By comparison a friends R6 the tank ridge is perfect a proper locked in feel to it, it's just a lower seat height (I assume something like that can get a lift kit?)
