 |
|
Help me, 2 dealers have told me my bike has some sort of engine problem, I didn't notice the noise ( I thought the noises it was making were normal ) the Honda service centre said the noise was from the top end, they advised me that it would be 2-3 hours labour just to get at the engine and identify the problem.
Made a video of the noise, can anyone help identify the problem or provide any insight at all?

Definitely looks like a blowing exhaust. Don't try and tighten the bolts whatever you do, they will only snap. Take them off and see what your exhaust state is, if it's fine, replace the gasket and put it back on. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. In summery, mattsprattuk is a gobby little sh1tebag, dopehead tw4t, but sadly for all of us, he probably isn't THAT full of sh1te!!

Well..
Until it sounds like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvwjwYJY_u4 you should be ok.
Thats my CBR when its cam bearing decided it wanted to die, its a known fault on 20,000+ mile engines. People neglect the oil filter on this bike...and it causes oil starvation to the cam area.. fun fun fun.
Doesn't sound as malicious as that so as above, check the exhaust. |

Paddy did your engine die due to oil problems? your noisy engine sounds just like mine except louder and more constant
Extra info: I think my bike has been stolen recoverd before, non honda keys and a wire coming from the ignition doesnt match the other wires around it (plastic connectors through a metal tab for various bits such as ignition and raditor fan, the ignition wire has nor plastic connectors it has crimp connections) and spending the whole day trying to get to the engine (never done anything this ambitious before) I realise my bike is crap

There's still a copper washer in your engine. Clean it up and heat it up on a gas cooker for a while and you can re-use it.
2-3 hours to diagnose what people can see in a video? This is why I fucking hate mechanics and think they're all incompetent pricks. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles.
