Hey just thought I'd share, rode to London and back today and achieved 100mpg on 400cc Yammy SRX single. I brimmed before going, travelled about 140 miles, brimmed the tank again, 9 quid at 1.35 a litre.

Just wondered if you guys have been suprised by the miles per gallon on a run, what motorcycle were you on?

In fairness I was at 60mph constant speed for most of it, and she has an open pipe on now so running bit leaner, but shes doing well 54k miles so far. Any tips on increasing mpg? I was told spark plug location is important for efficient burning, notice the srx is directly central, twin plugging those that arent helps apparently.

I did get overtaken by a guzzi -V50 on the way, 500 twin, I did think that must be getting some nice mpg too Razz

I did a constant 70mph from Bristol to London when I had picked up my SP1. I got just over 50mpg which I think is unheard of for the notoriously thirsty SP1. Laughing

That must have been so boring.

Seriously though, that's pretty good. Were you mainly on dual carriageways then?

I just remember that thing for having an obscene amount of grunt. I can't honestly imagine giving the slightest shit about MPG if I owned one of those. Wub
