https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBG1WE9SOS8&feature=youtu.be

Decided to strip the loom off the bike and drag it all indoors to try sorting the headlights.

After connecting a wire to the live terminal and having a prod at some plugs I found the lights worked perfectly at all points in the loom (which I was slightly cheesed off about since I undone all my nice taping work).

Anyway it turned out one of the wires had pulled free inside the switch, so after a strip down and replacement of some parts (thank fuck I didn't throw out the old switch gear), I got it all working again. Unfortunately as you can probably see in the video the full beam light is staying on... not sure if I'll even bother trying to sort that or not.. depends on how bored I get.

On a little side note, when I first had a quick look in the switch gear I pulled it apart and didn't realise there were springs and stuff in there. I done this a couple of days ago, today when I was rebuilding everything I realised the light switch had lost its click.... turns out I'd lost a ballbearing somehow. So today I went outside to try finding it.

This was more or less the blast zone:

After about 5 minutes on my hands and knees and my substantial nose scraping the slabs.... I'd found it

Are you talking about the stripped bike? if so then that's just to show the size of area to find the ballbearing.

I did strip the loom off to fix an electrical problem though if that's what you meant LOL

You stripped the bike for THAT.!!!!!

That's the sort of thing a dealership would do so that they could justify charging exorbitant amounts. Shocked

Nick.
