As these are forward facing, can bikers get done speeding through average speed camera zones? Are the police allowed to use the speed camera data to show a bike had done x over the speed limit and then use the 1000's of other CCTV cameras on the road to find your plate?

If your going to go through a camera do it properly Razz I think I read somewhere that the speed required before the camera can't get you is 174 or near abouts Very Happy

Serious note - I've gone few a few average cameras signed for 50mph at nearer 80 and nothing was ever done about it. I had a friend who did it in a car on the M6 and got fined and points :S

My friend regulary does 120+ through 50mph Average Speed Cameras on the A127 in Southend - He has never been caught. They're the forward facing ones.

there was an episode of myth busters where they tested this, as i recall they end up using a top fuel dragster at nearly 300mph before the camera couldnt catch it

Roadworks? I never see any roadworks. Just 50mph signs, average speed cameras, lots of cones and a perfectly good motorway.

Or, in the case of the A127 - a perfectly good A Road dual carriageway that you used to be able to make reasonably good progress on (boom tussshh, those that know it) until some chav idiot in a fiesta killed 5 people by being a chump, at which point the 'accident rate' rose over its set threshold and action was taken to 'protect the innocent'

Bumclouds.

They wouldn't be able to would they...how are the cameras supposed to know how fast a vehicle has gone between them if they can't read the plate?
