so you have a shit bike that was leaking fuel and its somehow the tesco petrol fault? Laughing Laughing

you really couldn't make it up... or could you...

you more than likely have a gunked up or rusty tank and leaving it stand
for a few weeks has allowed all the gunk to settle, which would normally
be pulled through the system bit by bit without you noticing.

but you need to act quickly to sue tesco and get some COMPENSATION
before its too late

I don't normally use Tossco either, but i am very sceptical that ONE tank of fuel was so bad that it blocked a carb to THAT extent.
What year is the bike? when was the carb last serviced?
What is the inside of the tank like? Has the bike been used off-road?

I've ran both my bikes on Tesco unleaded for something like a combined total of 50'000 miles. Never had a problem.

I ran my GPZ, and the current Bandit on supermarket fuel, and never had a fuel related problem

There is a bike in my garage that has been sat for 6 months unused with Asda petrol in it, it starts fine on the odd occasion that I need to start it up. My bike has been run on Asda petrol every day except for the odd week or two for the past few years, and works fine.

There probably are instances where supermarket fuel is a bit lame but in general, it is fine.

My bike's not been used for 8 weeks cos of the rain and other things it was filled with tesco fuel which comes from the esso refinery 10 miles from my tesco store, it fired up first go and had no problems.

This thread reminds me of when people say that guiness tastes better if you buy it in ireland.

I'd love to see some empirical evidence that supermarket fuel is substandard....or even much different.

i have seen scotters with plastic tanks that have obnly ever been filled at tesco (its easy accss for the staff in and out of work) that have a large build up something in the bottom of the tank.

as a side not, i used to fill the GS5 at tesco, for some reason i filled somewhere else an my MPG went up, the machine ran smoother, started better and gernerally felt better all round...

since then i have avoiuded tesco, on a side note from what i understand both asda and sainsbury's use bp gogo so should be a reasonable standard
