Hi, basically I left the choke open over night. Now bike won't fire up! Fun never end with my ER5!

I doubt it but you will have trying. Whip the plugs out and dry them. Pop them in and try again.

Shouldn't have made a blind bit of difference leaving the choke on overnight.

That doesn't mean you haven't flooded it but leaving it on overnight shouldn't make any difference, the choke just restricts the air intake into the engine.

Flooded engine, either walk away for a bit and try again later or turn the fuel off, choke off, throttle wide open and turn it over until it fires up.

Turning over a flooded engine will usually result in a very strong smell of unburned fuel coming out of the exhaust.

If you were riding it about last night with the choke on accidentally, it'll have burned loads more fuel than usual so check you have some.

The plot thickens.......got her started after a few goes with the choke open and took her out for half an hour. When i got back I turned her off and then thought i'd turn her back on to reassure myself. Same again, no joy, won't start! Ahhhhhhhh......!

Check your oil.!

Is it thin and smells of petrol.?

Possible diaphram damage in one of your carbs can cause massive over fueling. This can flood back into your airbox (so check this also) and down the breather pipe into your crankcase.

I have seen this on an ER5

Needless to say, but if it is dont start and ride the fekker.!

Mine did exactly the same, Fitted an inline fuel tap after numerous failed attempts at repairing the proper tap, and had my carbs refurbished.

It's fine now.
