I bought the bike about 3 weeks ago. Seller and I filled in the paperwork for the V5C and warranty and I left with the bike and my V5C slip thingy.

But 3 weeks later I still have no paperwork from either the DVLA or Yamaha. They say it takes "up to" 15 days. Problem is I'm changing address in a couple of weeks...and the day before I change adresses I'm heading off on a training exercise for two weeks, then coming back for maximum one hour, before heading off to central Asia for 5 weeks (much obliged to the army for giving me a whole hour to switch over).

My old address will either be unoccupied, or occupied by a Swedish girl who doesn't speak English (she is the only person interested in renting apparently!).

So:
- If I get pulled for any reason, what is the penalty for not having all of the documentation? (I don't even have the paper licence, lost it years ago)
- If the DVLA send me a letter/s telling me off for something relating to the bike, are there penalties for not replying soon enough? I may not be able to for up to 2 months, and even then I might not get the mail
- Worst case scenario, how can a lost V5C be replaced?

On the back of my New Keepers Supplement it says I should expect my V5 within 4 weeks of the previous owner sending it to them and to contact them if I don't. Where are you getting 15 days from, or is that the time Yamaha quoted they'd send the warranty?

Bought my bike 16 days ago and no V5 yet... DVLA are being slow.
