Hello all, I'm new to the forum.

This is my son Kenny. He's 12 years old and races a Honda RS125 in the western region of the United States. After 5 years racing on kart tracks he moved up to a 125 at the end of last year.

The competition is pretty good this year, but I don't see a lot of kids coming up to battle with next year. We're looking for more competition and considering racing in Europe before trying out for the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2013.

Any thoughts on where in your country a racer would go on a 125 to find the best grids? I've heard you have some fast guys over there Wink

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

Eric

Although the lad Kenny isn't Asian, his skill level is close.

The new BSB motostar class would be a very good stepping stone if he's got the skills - but it's not going to be cheap and I'd expect the competition is pretty sharp.

There's generally some pretty good competition in the MRO series.

Plenty of different bike classes to go to and relatively the skills transfer more easily I reckon as there's less differences between the vehicles.

Thanks G, the Motostar class does look like one option. Expensive, no doubt. I'm wondering if we should purchase and store a bike in the UK, or if there are teams offering rides for a fee. Kenny does have skills, but nothing pushes a kid to go fast like competition, which is what we're after. I'll look up MRO and see what that's about.

Thanks Ed, we are indeed tolerant. I suspect forums around the world are equally brutal at times.

Ayrton, we are strictly 2-wheel oriented Smile

Check out MRO etc here: https://www.bemsee.net/ - seems you've got either 80s, Superteens (any road 125 I believe) or the Ninja 250R thingy.

https://www.thundersportgb.com/ is also worth a look as a fairly 'premier' club - which has the Aprilia Superteens (RS125s).

Thank you G. I will check both of those out. Anyone else know of any club-level racing organizations anywhere in the country?
