Baby Blade

Right, need you army of knowledgeable bikers to help me and a friend settle our quarrel, he is adamant that their is such a thing as a 600cc Baby Blade. I on the other hand am under the impression that they only did a 250 and a limited 400 otherwise they wouldn't actually be BB's, probably RR's.

Tell me if I'm wrong and I will eat humble pie.

Don't remember a 600 baby blade. I can remember a friends 400 baby blade in urban tiger colours.

Some people call the 600RR the baby blade, I think that's all he means. The Fireblade is actually CBR1000RR anyway. As far as I know, most people refer to the 400's as baby blades though.

Fireblade is a 900/1000 CBR-RR.

So if he is referring to a CBR***-RR as a Baby Blade, where *** = less than 1000 (i.e. 125/250/600) then he is correct in a way.

But it was never officially known as a baby blade.

Agree, CBR400 was the baby.

You could possible call the CBR250R a baby, but definitely not the 600RR

CBR400 was the 'baby blade', similar styling to the 900 too, as the picture Pinky posted shows.
People for some dumbass reason call the 600RR a baby blade, when infact it never has had anything near being called that, the RR is just a raced up 600F which came first.
The fireblade is Honda's flagship bike I believe, so they don't give the 'blade' name to anything with a fairing and add baby to it if its below 1000cc, would be so easy to get muddled up.

Its all because the styling is the same as the Fireblade, the 600 looks nothing alike

So, 1000RR= Fireblade,
600RR= kitted up cbr600f,
400RR= Baby blade
250RR= maybe a baby

I have already done my victory dance. Though I see where he comes from as they are all "RR"

Can I just point out that only CBR400's after 1992 are true Babyblades. Anything prior to this year cannot be a Blade of any definition as the Fireblade did not exist before 1992.
The 'RR' simply stands for 'Race Replica'

As above - both the CBR400RR and CBR250RR had 'Fireblade' written on the side of them, for latter years at least.
Thus they justify being called a 'babyblade' etc. The CBR600 never did.
They also share very similar styling to the 900cc Fireblades of the time.

As far as I know the f after the rr was actually a detuned f! They made the suspension less adjustable etc.
