So the next installment of the dwindling series of motorbike simulation games is out next Friday.

Does anyone think this one will be even worth a look?! Rolling Eyes

I'll get it to be honest. I've liked the previous ones a lot. I got into MotoGP 10/11, but Capcom screwed everyone on the update for the '11 season bikes. They said it'd be out 'shortly after the season begins', that shortly after was for just before the Valencia race at the end of the season...

SBK games have had better physics for me, I also played the last one on the PC and the graphics were great. If they do this one on the PC, I'll certainly get it.

I do like the SBK games and this one does look pretty cool, the physics are always better than the moto GP games.

Will I buy it? In a year or so probably, haven't got a lot of time for games atm.

Personally, racing bikes and racing cars are too detached from anything I am ever likely to own, when i play racing games like forza etc I prefer to use the road cars. Same for bikes really except that there are no decent road bike racing games out for any of the modern consoles. It's a shame the gran turismo guys haven't made an updated version of tourist trophy using the GT5 engine. I would buy a PS3 just to play that, Tourist Trophy ps2 is ace but it's more of a practice exercise than a complete game.

I want gran turismo/forza with bikes: I want to mod the bikes, I want holding the front brake and accelerator at the same time to not be a winning strategy and a speed triple that will pull a fucking wheelie (screw you TT ps2).

Tourist trophy was the best bike game I've had, but it could've been so much better.

What sort of controller would be best if I were to get it on the PC? Joystick?

Also, does it have the Knockhill circuit?

Controller wise, Microsoft sell an XBOX pad with a USB Wireless link, I use that, I've had loads in the past, but it's the only one I've not really had to arse about with button mapping.

Knockhill - nope, it's world supers so it'll have Donny and Silverstone this year.

Tourist Trophy was the nuts, and I have to agree with Donny, there was something nice about being able to take a production bike out and playing about with it. Having moped, or 125/250 races with mates was also a lot of fun.

I do the same on GT5, I either drive fairly ordinary cars, or I drive totally mad race cars, the veyron, ferraris and all that stuff are ok to have a go in, but once you have it's kind of crap.

Purpose built racer/normal production works better for me.

There was a rumor when GT5 was being made that a downloadable update might surface with bikes, but that game was so delayed, and so over budget that I doubt it'll ever surface. If I did though, I think i'd have a sex wee!

I really enjoy the sbk series of games, for a mainstream 'accessible' title, they are pretty challenging in terms of physics and honing the perfect line around a track can genuinley take hours.

The best I've ever played though, has to be the original gp500 game with the more recent fan made physics and graphics. A truely incredible game.

From the gameplay video I saw it looks exactly like SBK X with new liveries

I used to play Moto Gp and thought it was poor. Only just bought SBK11 and thought it was great tbh so I will hopefully be buying Generations Smile

Looked at this earlier but not really interested as I was hoping it would have the UK tracks so I could learn them before track days! Anyone know a game for the xbox that has all the English tracks?

Look for "Sweet Nothing" and "Fuck All".

The only games I can think of with UK circuits are the old TOCA Touring Car games from Codemasters.
