My new Bike

I have picked up my new bike today. Will keep the 750 and use this when its not raining.

I picked it up from Suffolk today, which is about 2.5 hours from me. Mate gave me a lift and I rode it back.

Nearly had a nightmare with the insurance.
I got a quote to amend my e-bike policy and it gave me a price I was happy with and which they said would be valid for a few weeks (can't remember how long but more than enough time for me). I got about 5 or 6 quotes from them for the same bike over the last few months and they all come out at about £460. So I bought the bike based on the price I could insure it for, if it had been loads more I may have got another bike or waited till I had a years no claims.
I bought the bike on Thursday and arranged to go to pick it up Saturday when I had insurance. It was from a dealer which was closed for jubilee but the owner said if I can get down Saturday before he goes away he will meet me at his shop and open up especially so I can pick it up.
On Friday I received the money I transferred from a savings account to pay the insurance in my current account and then went online to confirm and pay for my quote.
Every time I put the quote info in it said "sorry can't create quote details- try entering new quote information".

I tried this about ten times over a period of a couple of hours and it just wouldn't work. Eventually it would no longer find my quote info.
I was getting stressed now as everything was in place for me to pick it up the next day and I had just missed their office hours so couldn't call them.

I thought I would do as it advised and get a new quote for policy amendment, I put all the info in the same as before when I got my initial quotes, but this time, came back at over £1000 to add the bike to the policy (instead of £460).
I started getting stressed and kept going through the details again and again, but still kept quoting me over £1000.
I knew if I didn't pick it up today it could be weeks before I could get it and I had already outlaid money to make it happen today.
My Mrs said she could lend me the money to pay the £1000 just so I could get the bike and then we would try and reclaim the difference.
I wasn't happy with this but looked like only solution.

Luckily I re-did the quote one more time and this time it came back with my original price of £460. I was so happy.

Lesson Learnt never try sort insurance last minute

When I got mine, I was on an ebike monthly policy; they bumped it up to £100 a month for TPO.
Got a quote of £100 a year for TPO, so sacked ebike off.

Good choice, absolutely awesome bikes. 100+ in first and lifts in 3rd under its own power so go careful

Lucky man, looks like you are going to have a ton of fun. I'd have been apprehensive about paying the £1000 and trying to reclaim as I could imagine them having none of it, policy is in effect etc.

I am surprised no one commented on the opening post. I edited for spelling and errors and wrote I had done so, but after rereading today I noticed I had missed about 10 spelling mistakes still.
