I own an SV650s fully faired, but have recently moved to a new house which does not have a garage, i will be building a carport but in the meantime any tips for storing it outside, i have a motorbike cover and a lock or two, but is there any likely corrosion points etc?

Cleaning and covering is about your best defense. Suzuki fasteners have a reputation for losing their finish so make a good job of it.

If you're going to just leave it until you're carport is ready, then as much coating with a wax protection you can do the better. If you want to ride it in between times you'll have to be a bit more careful about applying waxy things as they'll generally make the bike a bit less appealing and tend to rub off on clothes e.t.c.

short term I just clean and rub over vulnerable points with a cloth with some wd40 on. stuff like chrome, stanchions, any paint with chips, fastners e.t.c. not the disks - they'll obviously rust but a light rusting will be cleaned off when you use it.

would be sensible to do the chain yes.

copa-slip while will protect from corrosion is really an anti-sieze thing for bolts. better to use something designed to stick - waxoyl, ankor wax e.t.c

Or ask a mate/family member with garage to store it for you for a short while.

Forget copper slip. Only any good preventing parts from seizing as in threads etc.

ACF50 is your friend. Build the carport quickly.

The bike will corrode anyway, SV650s do that, but they only corrode until they look shit, then no further.

You can either spend your life chasing it, or accept it.
