Would anyone recommend a training centre within reasonable (an hour) distance of Scarborough. Although if it was cheaper I would travel and get digs for a day or two. I want to do a "crash" course to do my bike test.
I'm over 21, so I could do the direct access test, and it probably costs the same anyway?

I've been driving about on a so called moped lately and need more speed.
I've done my car test some years ago, so I don't need CBT or L's on a moped, hence the purchase of a rough Rieju 50cc for £200 to dodge the Wessie (tourist) traffic that summer inflicts on us. After some slight tuning (carb, bore kit, bent reeds back) it was a bit quicker than my old RXS100, and much better handling and brake wise. But now the engines not thanking me for making it do 85mph (yes, really!), I think it's time I sold it to a kamikaze 16 year old.

Bump.
I believe the addition of another post will raise this topic to the top once again, where it might receive an answer.
I don't like to post for nothing, so I'll tell you what awful bikes and peds I've owned, in order for the reader to understand how much I need to do my bike test.
Suzuki TS50X My first moped, I wish I'd kept it
Honda Vision X I don't want to talk about this
Puch Monza paid £100 what was I doing
Honda C50 auto, bought £30, ringed it (naughty), sold £300, two weeks later gearbox went
Kawasaki AR50(ahem93) did 80mph, but about 10mpg
Honda PF50 4t pedal and pop, did 29mph and 250mpg
Honda C50 x3 all bought for about £2 and put thru Mot by swapping bits between em, all sold for at least £80 each
Honda C70 went to Newcastle in thick snow on this, I ended up putting an SS50 engine in it, did 75mph with the SS lump
Kawasaki KE100 £300, no faster than TS50 and didn't like wet as I found out when 50 miles away on a dark rainy night
Yamaha DT50MX £80, jacked up, did 57mph after I polished the piston, sold for £300, 2 weeks later crank snapped!
Kawasaki KE125, £100, did 80mph sometimes, 60 others, ok off-road, sold for £500, a week later the oil seals went!
Yamaha RXS100, good little bike
Kawasaki KC100, tuned by Mad Martin, did 95mph, got stolen 3 times, the 3rd time some twat nearly died on it (cheers loudly)
Yamaha DT125R, I should have kept this one, my best bike
Cagiva Prima 50, £200, crap, looked like it should do 100mph, did 50mph
Rieju RS1 (50cc), £200, not bad for a moped, at least I don't have to do CBT and can crogey on it. It'll do me for around town until I pass me bike test.

Look in the yellow pages I did.

There is a bike school in Scarborough. Yorkshire Rider Training 01723 370329 (dont have much in the way of hire bikes)

The other is Ace motors in Thornaby near Middlesbrough and i highly recomend this one. 01913 846404 (inc use of bikes and gear if wanted)
