Does it help prevent rust to a chrome wheel? As this is the only reason i might get some. Thanks

Yes it will but what would be the point if you cannot see the chrome, would it not be just as easy to paint the rim with clear lacquer? You can get clear tape but I've only ever seen it in 3mm and I'm guessing you would need 6mm.

Homosexual cruise wagons aside, i really think this thread is stupid. Even if rim tape stopped corrosion (which personally i dont think it would as i reckon it probably traps moisture and so makes corrosion worse) but benefit of the doubt an all that) it would surely only protect that half inch or so of rim that is covered? Unless youre thinking of covering the whole wheel in the stuff it seems a little bit pointless to me.

Btw...he said rim lol
