my spare front wheel is just a bit out of true and would like to get it tweaked straight again, I used to take these things to BOSS M/C in brierley hill but he's closed down, any suggestions?

Not in the midlands, but this place does it by post.

There's usually a guy giving out cards at the Swancote meet on Wednesday evenings - he does all sorts of wheel refurbishment. If I make it there tomorrow, I will get his details.

Also, West Midlands M/Cs are close to Boss - 01384 78467 - they would probably know someone.

Assuming it's a spoked wheel, buy a spoke key and have a read up on it. It's not as difficult as people make out, especially if they are only slightly out of true.

There are a lot of good articles on the subject for bicycle wheels, it's exactly the same principle. My two tips are to use small adjustments and stop when it is "good enough", don't try for perfection.

If you can get the front wheel up off the ground and take the brake calliper off then you don't even need a jig. You can attach a bent wire coathanger to the fork leg with a couple of jubilee clips for a pointer.

not spoke wheels, spare front cast wheel for my fazer

as far as I know boss has been closed for a few weeks, I went to get something done a couple of months ago and he said his dad had passed away last year and he was doing good business on ebay, then a few weeks later I went back to get something else done and all the other units say he's been closed for weeks, bit of a pain as they've always been there throughout my biking career
