Not quite Urbex - Abandonded Community in Leeds

So i've seen a few Urbex threads in here, and often have a nosey on 28dayslater, but i've never felt the urge to climb over a load of fences and try to get into an abandoned building (not because i dont fancy it, but because i'm too fat and lazy to be frank) but noticed a place in leeds get mentioned a few times, some claimed it was an abandoned mental institute, other said it was haunted etc... from what i can make out it's an old boy's reformatory within it's own little community that's been abandoned for quite a while! amongst the abandoned buildings there's a Church, some flats, the main reformatory, loads of out buildings, a few houses etc.

Thought i'd have a walk round on sunday as i was hungover and didn't want to ride the bike when it was raining!

I've seen this before - my wife actually looked into the chapel for a church conversion which we were thinking of taking on in ~2009 when we were looking to move up to Yorkshire as I nearly transferred at work.

IIRC one of the housing developers has it on their books and is just sitting on it all until the market improves.

i know this is a bit of a old post but i think this used to be the old norty boys home, which is now called eastmoor where bad lads under the age of 15 go before they graduate to hmyoi wetherby, i may be wrong but from what i am led to believe im right, obviously if im worng ill be corrected.
