Hi guys,
Parked my Derbi outside a shop and popped in for 5 mins, when I came out I saw a load of kids walking away from my bike... They had placed female wax strips on the seat and on the back plastics.

The seat cleaned up well but the rear plastics had a green tint that when i scrubbed turned brown. Its on the stickers of the bike and dosn't feel sticky itself.

Is there any way to restore these back plastics to their original white glow? I can't pour solvents over it since it will peal the stickers up.

Thanks

Go to Halfords and buy some AutoGlym Motorcycle degreaser. That should do the job.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Try a microfibre cloth soaked in vegetable oil or similar and lots of scrubbing.

Alternatively, get some absorbent paper (not kitchen towels) place it over the stained areas and heat up with a blow-dryer. Press well and peel off before it cools down. Repeat and repeat some more.

I would of gladly but they cleared off quite quickly... Not sure why they did it, I notified the shop security.

Thanks for the tips guys I will try both and if they remove it I will be a very happy man.

Ive also noticed that the stickers are lifting off only after a year! How can i reattach the stickers that are starting to peel on the plastics?

EDIT: I'm going to try all of the techniques put to me today. I need this area spotless since I am upgrading in the next few months and want my bike to showroom condition.

Try leaving a sponge soaked in warm soapy water (such as AG shampoo) on the area for a little while to warm the sticky stuff up. You may be able to wipe it away if it's warm and soapy enough - same applies to bird shit.

An all purpose cleaner (often referred to as APC) may be your best friend in this circumstance - Meguiars do a 5 litre bottle which should last an age for £21.

Yeah, everywhere is full of these idiots. They gathered for the london riots I believe. Wouldn't be so funny if it was done to them so why do they do it to random members of the public trying to live their lives.

Ive also had a coolant cable slashed before and didn't realise until the engine overheat warning light came up... What do these bastards have to do to us before they realise its not a good idea?

Baby oil eh? Il slather some on since its cheap stuff. Its a pain really because the bike was brand new July 2011 and now I'm coming to sell up and upgrade, I have to clean it all up. Rolling Eyes

Ah well, hours in the shed for me Very Happy

jealousy is all it is, there are some complete wankers that can't see another person do well for themselves, and are too lazy to go out and earn their own, so just vandalise.

If you press your bollocks against it and step back sharply it will either come off the bike or take the pubes off your plums
