Groovy..isn't that chancey seeing as the dates can shift? I've booked a trip with my brother for the 6th July this year but I have to get his TL1000r fixed :/.. I wanted to see the island when it's not too busy and the prices not 500% more than usual due to the TT Smile

not really, if you look at the dates for next year the race week is covered by my dates.

Practice week is always the last week in May
Race week is always the 1st week in June

Cool, can I pick your brains? not zombie style.. What's it like riding around the isle of man, any points that can catch you off? ie crashing.. Any customs or quirks of the police there? Me and my brother have no baffles on our bikes, we wondered if they'd taken exception to noisy bikes...

The way of calculating the dates for TT in any year is to remember that 'Mad Sunday' (the sunday between practice week and race week) is always the first Sunday in June.

A few pics from the last race of the 2012 TT. Pics were taken on a Galaxy S whilst recording a video, so might be a bit crap and im lying in a field writing this on my phone. Hope you have much better weather in 2013. Im going to Castletown tomorrow to watch the Southern 100 and weather is looking much better than the last few days.

Funny how everyone on the island is so welcoming. My mum and dad know a couple that took them in a few years ago, who they still speak to now, and will put them up every year FOC if they go.

MGP is much more relaxed than the TT, less visitors, no street entertainment etc, more for the die hard roadrace and classic enthusiasts. The mountain stays two way, unlike TT fortnight when it's one way only. With less traffic on the roads you tend to get much more 'playtime' on the mountain without the constant road closures caused by accidents.
Quite a few uk bikers come for weekend trips throughout the summer just to ride the course. Outside of TT and MGP periods the boats are much cheaper.
