i have an nsf (with slight engine problem) however i've been offered an nsr engine. how tough would it be to swap em over. Also would i be looking at huge power and speed gains? anyone done this before?

I doubt it would be easy as they are significantly different.

For the cost and hassle you could probably pass your test (presuming you haven't) and get a bigger bike.

What parts will you be needing?

Just thinking it'll be a lot cheaper to go on www.davidsilverspares.co.uk get the parts and get them fitted.

The mounting points, and from what I remember pretty much everything else. So you would need all the electrics, carb etc etc.

What's actually wrong with it?
You could try keeping an eye out for an ns125 engine, then sell your old one for spares if you aren't too happy doing the work needed to it. Probably wouldn't cost you too much in the long run.

By the way, the NSR is a bit faster in derestricted form, but we're only talking 10mph top end or so for a good one and slightly better acceleration.
