Looking to pikey a pair of second hand race boots off eBay for an upcoming trackday. Got a decent pair of tourers but they're a bit long in the tooth and a bit soft...
Anyway, plenty of little used Sidi vortex etc in my size - thing is I hear a lot of people saying that Sidi's are about a size smaller than they claim. Is this true?

I have 2 pairs of Sidi's. Vertigo's and a pair of Black Rains
I wear a UK size 8, and from memory both pairs of boots are euro 42's .

The Vertigo's were a little tight when new, but soon "wore in". The Black Rains fitted right from the box.

[edit] as parkmoy mentioned, probably about half a size smaller than "standard"

I found them a bit tighter, I normally take 9.5-10 but couldn't get on anything smaller than an 11, when I recently tried some Sidi Fusions.

I've always been a big fan of Sidi and I don't remember having the same problem with any of my old boots, but I haven't bought any for a while, so maybe something has changed.

This is pretty much what I heard. I'm after a 10.5/11 (Eur 45 was fine for my tourers) so I guess 11.5 will be about right...

Thanks all Thumbs Up Karma

I think the main problem is that they are quite a narrow fit and those with wider feet need the larger size to accomodate the width.

All reports of Sidi that I have seen is they make them slightly small. Its better to get a size or half size up. I had the same problem with my Spyke boots. As a result they are now up for sale which is a shame because I did love them. Got me a pair of cheaper (lack of money) boots a size up and they fit perfectly.

I've had sidis in the past but as said above they tend to be quite narrow so went for dainese this time and they are sooo comfy and not ridiculously expensive and simple to get on unlike those alpinestars with loads of clips and.laces and more faff.

Seems a fair degree of variation so will add my own experience to make the outcome of the thread even less useful. Usually i take an 11-12 for shoes and trainers and have quite a wide foot too. My sidi b2 are a size 11 and a perfect fit, if anything then the tiniest on the loose side.

Tried on alpinestars when buying them and needed a 12 to fit lengthways but they were all too narrow for me.

I am a size 9, my Vertigos are a size 10, fit perfectly.

Simple answer: go to a shop and try some on!
