I am often offered test rides but always refuse as I am not in the market to buy, yesterday I turned down a go in the new Morgan Aero. Am I being a twat?

I'd say go for it,do they not ask for your licence or deposit just incase,if not just enjoy yourself I'm sure they would find a way of covering it anyway.

Never been asked for anything. Over the last two years I have turned down.... Range Rover Vogue, Victory (big Yankee V twin). Audi R8, Yam MT03, Morgan Aero and Ariel Atom.

I grab any test ride possible usually...I like to try vehicles.

I got to drive many cars a year ago as part of my job, definitely makes me remove certain cars from my want list.

Now you're just making me envious. In the last 2 years I have turned down the offer of a test drive in a renault clio. And that's it. Meh.

Usually they ask for stuff when you agree to the test ride.

I last got a test ride on a 2012 Fireblade, that was a £2k excess.

See these are (mostly) not dealers but mates or mates of mates. Friend of mine did crash a German three wheeler (Morganish) and he had to sell an 8K bike to repair it. The things I have turned down need to be given a bit and that can end up being expensive. No point in driving an Atom within what the law would consider to be a proper manner.

Ah! That's a bit different then..

If i'm ever offered a go on a mates bike/car i always think twice.... Quite often i will politely decline, if anything was to go wrong i would struggle to repair it and i would just be pissed off with myself.
