So there I am driving home from finishing work at 8pm.
A police van happened to be behind me in traffic for about a mile so I'm driving with my little halo on, as you do when being followed by the law.

So the law leave me past a junction and I get to the section of road that is currently having roadworks done; this is the unbelievable part.

The lane I SHOULD be travelling in is having work done, but is the busier direction of travel, thus has been moved to the other lane. The opposite direction is well signposted as CLOSED.

The stretch of road i refer to is about 300m with a sweeping corner that one could potentially do decent speed round. After completing the corner at a sensible speed I see a car dodge round the ROADBLOCK in his lane to enter the lane I am now occupying.

*ANCHORS*

The car anchors on as well, slams into reverse and fucks off sharpish.

We were still a safe distance apart but had I been travelling at decent whack or been a little later and he had progressed further we would have had a head on.

I'm so angry I've given myself a headache, and I'm a fucking zen person.

You'd be surprised at what I can believe, stupid or not.

Your story sounds like many other idiotic things that happen. Just glad it ended ok, too many accidents recently. Shame that police van turned off eh! Wink

I did think it was a shame that van turned off.

But also I cant help but think if I wasnt watching my speed because of it, the outcome could have been different.

Someone up there still likes me Karma
