Am I right in the head....

Well ive been riding my "big" bike now for 3 or 4 months and im enjoying it so much whenever im at a bike store or anywhere with second hand bikes im always thinking about that next "purchase"..

Its early days yet for me, still loads to learn and experience but im finding a strange urge for adventure / touring bikes coming over me..

Now I never thought I would be "into" these bikes when I first got my Z750 I thought to myself this will do me to get on the road, get some real experience and then maybe progress onto a supersports 600 in maybe 12-18 months time... but now im finding myself more drawn in by BMW's and Triumph tiger explorers... am I even thinking straight? Im 27 so im still a young gun, and I do have a soft sport for all the real nice sports bikes, but I cant help having an urge to do something special with an adventure bike...

I think whats really got me thinking too is the guys I often go riding with all ride sports bikes, but they dont participate in wet riding so to speak.. and this country is full of rain!! so that leaves me with a dilema as I dont want to leave the bike under the covers when its damp but I dont see the big appeal of riding a sports bike in the pissing rain.. its just doesnt appeal like jumping on a big adventure bike would in the rain.... or it doesnt to me?

I get what you mean about having a bike but looking at others. Not gonna lie but everyday i go on biketrader and just look at bikes Cool

Not to buy one, but just to see what kind of bike i think i'll be having next.

About the whole adventure bike thoughts, everyone is to their own is the way i see it. I love naked bikes, sports bikes and supermotos. Don't care for adventure bikes, tourers, cruisers or any other type, but that's probably just me being an 18 year old Thumbs Up

A wet and windy M5 isn't the most pleasant place to be on one mind you but its my only form of transport. The only real problem is squaring off soft sports tyres Wink

It's the 'maturity ravine'..... you have just fallen in it.
When you are a 'kid' everything is new and you know no better. Then you get a bit older and you can do what you like.... but after about seven years of doing what you like, it catches up with you, and looking ahead, 'being sensible' thinking about life-goals... you hit the pre-middle age 'maturity-ravine' of super-sensibility, overwhelmed by the enormity of 'life' and growing up.....
Probably take about seven years to come out the other side, and have that super-sensibility tempered by senility, and 'What the heck! - I am too OLD to worry about all this shit'!'
